I seached but couldn't find this question answered here so if you have a moment please - HELP!
I only have dialup availible in my home (rural). I have a dell inspirion 9300 I use for everyday use. Internet, research ect. I would *like* to set up a wireless lanr- (looking at the netgear brand router) is it possible with XP to have another computer on all the time- go into hibernatation and call it out using the dell then have it sign online to surf the web/print a document? I know I could get a wireless printer connection and a wireless router but money IS an issue. I'd like to be able to disconnect form the isp across the wireless lan when done surfing and allow the other computer to go back into hibernation. Is ths even possible?
thanks!

David

Computer can go into Standby. Meaning it stays On but it reduces power consumption but switching off few components.

Setting the computer to get Out of Standby depends on the events available in the motherboard?s Bios setting, and Windows power configuration.

Computer can be Switch Off in Hibernation Mode. Meaning the computer is Off but the RAM is saved to the hard Drive, so it can load faster when it switched On.

Setting a computer to switch On and use the Hibernated RAM can be done with Wake On LAN. http://www.ezlan.net/WOL.html
