Wireless internet - Is there more latency than cable?

I'm looking into buying a house, but it's just on the outskirts of everything. DSL and Cable are not available in the area yet, and the only option for internet seems to be from a local wireless ISP.

The service and price seem good (www.storm.ca if curious), but I'm wondering if there are any surprises in store, especially with regards to latency and online gaming?

Does anyone have any suggestions, warnings, etc?

Thanks

Wireless do have more latency than cable. By how much it depends on the nature of the services.

The service seems to be provided through a wireless modem of some sort, with a directional antenna to a nearby tower. Other than that, I've got no idea. Information on the provider seems to be limited, although by the number of antennas, they have alot of customers.
