Wireless Internet Cutting Out

Okay, I fixed this problem easily last time I had it but I forgot how I did it. All I remember is there was an XP setting that was also searching for the wireless signal or something and it would conflict with my wireless hardware searching. The internet diconnects, then reconnects about 5 seconds later. That happens about every 30 minutes. I know that the setting is the problem and last time I disable it, my internet didn't have a problem for months. So I know that's what it is. Does anybody know what I'm talking about and know where I go to disable it?

Are you talking about the Wireless Zero Configuration Service in adminstration tools?

Control Panel... Adminstration Tools... Services.... Wireless Zero Config Service

:)

My guess is that's what he's looking for.

You can also permanently disable it by using msconfig and clicking the services tab.

Thanks a bunch both of you! That sounds a little familiar so I think that was the problem. Now just time to wait and see :) Thanks again!
