wireless intellimouse explorer - tail light?

I know on my intellimouse, the light on the back of the mouse lights up...

but it does not on the wireless explorer. (?) I am assuming that this is a powersaving thing since it wouldnt make much sense to waste the AA batteries for that... right?
 
Nope.... mine doesnt light up wither.

Well, neither does the bottom, or anything else on it... since it SUCKS for gaming. I am back to my nice blue Logitech Optical Mouseman Wheel+.
