I want to order a wireless keyboard/mouse for HTPC/gaming tonight. Current I'm looking at the Wireless Laser Desktop 6000 RF, about $60 AR at Newegg:

linky

I'm actually going to be using it on a modded Xbox. I was toying around with the idea of getting a Microsoft Media Center keyboard and then a seperate mouse, maybe the Laser 6000, but it looks like you have to buy a seperate USB IR adapter which is only present in the MCE remote. Any leads on that would be appreciated, or else suggestions for other desktop combos. Otherwise I'll go with the 6000 combo.

i've played with that keyboard at the store. it feels nice. they are like $100 at staples and bestbuy. I just wish there was a wired version of it. i'm happy with my mx518. might get the keyboard and mix it up

I prefer the mx1000. it uses the same optics and fast rf transmitter as the g5 and g7, but with way more and better buttons.

I hear the G7 is suitable.

Yeah, I haven't really been satisified with a wireless mouse for HTPC gaming just yet. This will actually be used on a modded XBOX with USB ports, so I'd prefer wireless so I can just use it on the couch. The other route I wanted to go was too expensive...the MS Media Center keyboard runs like $70, plus you need the IR adapter that comes with the remote, which runs another $80. Then you still need a seperate mouse, like the MS Laser 6000, which runs like $50. Or I could just go with the 6000 complete and call it good.
