I have 2 PCs (A and B) in 2 separate rooms (20 feet) that need to be connected to use the cable modem on computer A for internet access.

I like to use USB connection on computer B (so I don't even have to open the case) and obtain speed around 11Mb/s. Could someone recommend a "home kit" for my use?

thanks,

GYC

My recommendation would be something like an SMC barricade wireless router coupled with an Orinoco gold USB wireless NIC

The router would allow both computers access to the internet when only one IP address is available through the cable modem

cool. yeah, i don't know of any "kits" per se, but SMC plus Orinoco make one heck of a good combo

Note: i believe Linksys or Netgear or one of those comanies makes a router which is identical to the SMC...which one it is eludes me at the moment....do a search here in networking for "smc" and i'm sure you'll come across which one it is.

good luck! this is all just about the best consumer - grade stuff you can buy :)
