I have wireless internet and it works ok when it feels like it, but every day for the past month it has been cutting. I have talked to my ISP and they had me uninstall norton anti-virus which sometimes interrupts the connection, but it is still cutting out.
I got a new network card which is not integrated, but it is still cutting out.
The funny thing is, with my integrated net card I would be unable to renew my ip address nor would I be able to send or recieve packets. With my new net card I can still send packets when opening a web page, and recieve them too, but not nearly quite as much as when the internet is working, for instance; when the internet is working, I send and recieve more than 50 packets, while when it is not opening any web pages, I send maybe 20 packets, and recieve 5.
Are there other programs that may be interrupting the service, or some compatability problem?
my specs:
amd athlon 64 processor 3000+
1024 MB RAM
MSI starforce k8n neo platinum motherboard
Geforce 6800 GT video card
run-of-the-mill hard drive with 110 GB, with a slaved 40GB
Any ideas?
