Have a belkin router 2 wireless notebooks HP and a Dell belkin 54 g cards both running xp home. all of a sudden cannot connect 50 feet away. signal strength says excellent mbps start up is 54 then drops to 11 then 5.5 then to 1.0 eventually after a short time it disconnectrs although router and desk top are still working Tried changing cards and everything seems to be configured ok. any suggestions?

If every thing worked before and nothing changed in the settings it might be an Environmental Noise.

2.4GHz Phones Microwave etc. might cause it.

However to make sure go careful over your Settings. Some time changes might occur without you knowing about it.
