Hey guys,

I'm running a Siemens Wireless Router and an Intel Anypoint Wireless USB Adapter. Anyhow, on the land line, the Cable connection shows a d/l speed of 1800 kbp/s. The computer using wireless is only getting 450 kbp/s. Is this normal using router? If not...wtf is going on? :)

Thanks fellas!

Doesn't sound normal to me. Your wireless router's bandwidth should be in the megabits which is probably a lot more than your Internet bandwidth so the bottleneck shouldn't be in your network.

Hmm, so is there any solution? I checked on dsl/broadband reports and they dont' have much in the way of support.

One thing is that if the signal strength is low it will decrease the bandwidth between your computer and the router. So if there is something that will show you what your signal strength is that would help narrow down the bottleneck.

Yeah, the monitor shows both a signal strength and quality of ~ 90%. Oh, I forgot to add that when I upload of download a large file, my computer hard locks.

First thing I'd do is get new drivers for your client since it shouldn't be locking up.

I tried to update the drivers for my adapter but what I have is the most recent. Is there any other solution? Could it be a crappy install since I used to have WinPoet on here with Earthlink DSL? Would a reformat help? Blah...
