wireless headset W/ mic

Allow me to preface the following query by saying that, "I am older than dirt, new to this forum, and mostly have no technical aptitude with regard to my search." I am searching for a way to communicate with my spouse in the very noisy environment of our motor home. Therefore, the following points, I hope, will provide the basis for my query and sufficient information for your suggestions on 1) equipment and 2) installation/use of same:
  • environment - between driver and passenger in noisy motor home (distance of 5' to 7')
    • headset format is necessary due to my hearing deficiency-need sound emission directly into ear canal
  • constant "open" line of communication, preferably
  • cease, or reduce, communication volume in the event of receiving a Bluetooth phone call
    • it would be nice-but not necessary-if the headset could also receive transmission from our Sirius radio unless we are talking and/or receiving phone call
  • format - a walkie talkie-type set-up, i.e., wireless headsets/mics (do not wish to shackle ourselves to the dash, etc. with wires and the attendant danger in the event of an accident
  • what kind of technology would be required-if even possible-Bluetooth, etc.
  • how/where could I get comprehensive instructions on how to install/launch such a system
  • would prefer to NOT have to use our cellular phones as a communication "bridge", especially if there would be a minutes charge due to long driving hours each day
I sincerely hope that this message provides sufficient insight into my dilemma in resolving my communication needs. Again, my apologies if I have inadvertently violated any of your forum rules and regulations. If so, it certainly was unintended.

Respectfully,

Tom G.
