I was just wondering..
I want to use my PC as a phone (uh.. communication centre?)..
And..so, naturally, I want to use wireless headset to be connected to the PC.
Now, is there wireless headset for PC?? (preferably with some control button, so that I can initiate the phone call without actually going to the PC screen..)
And.. is it somehow possible that I can wake up the PC automatically (say.. it's in STR or energ saving mode) if I get a call to the modem?

Yes, they do and they are expensive as hell. Our center director in our call center got one and it set our budget back about $800.00 for that little gem. It uses a corded headset to a small pack that is wireless. The small pack has all the numbers buttons and everything to dial from anywhere. I will let you know where to find one in just a sec.

Hey, we're innovative, creative, tweaking kind of guys...

and gals.

How about hooking up a cordless phone to use with the computer's line in/out? Once to that step, getting a cordless with a headset option if you prefer it is easy. Problem here is I'm not familiar with the circuitry of a phone, but comon, it's not like soldering more cache onto the die of a cpu, it'd just be changing over a phone based on what, 50+ year old standards and tech (for the phone interface to the system).

So, how about it, anyone with the required knowledge got 20 minutes and a napkin to draw on?

Interesting idea ther :) I don't know I understand fully though.
Modems already got the line out connector, don't they, just in case you don't wanna fiddle with the cables..

that platronics headset doesn't say anything about using it with a PC.
It's just a regular cordless telephone.
