Hello,

I recently bought a Linksys WAG54G and everything works perfectly exept wireless gaming.
When I play rise of nations online wired (UTP 100mbps) I have no problems.
But when I play online and wireless, I get disconnected after a certain amount of time, it fluctuates between 2 mins and 30 mins.

The wireless network works perfectly if I use it for just emailing, surfing, downloading,...

I did a ping command while I was surfing with this result:

Ping statistics for 192.168.1.1:
Packets: Sent = 1106, Received = 1105, Lost = 1 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 1ms, Maximum = 57ms, Average = 1ms

So no signs of possible problems when I play online.
I also did a ping command at the time I was being disconnected and then I could see very high ping times and timeouts:

Reply from 192.168.1.1: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=150
Reply from 192.168.1.1: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=150
Reply from 192.168.1.1: bytes=32 time=18ms TTL=150
Reply from 192.168.1.1: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=150
Request timed out.
Request timed out.
Reply from 192.168.1.1: bytes=32 time=1784ms TTL=150
Reply from 192.168.1.1: bytes=32 time=67ms TTL=150
Reply from 192.168.1.1: bytes=32 time=5ms TTL=150

Anybody who knows a solution?

To make it clear: I have no problems when I do the exact same thing wired!

So you're pinging your router and getting an occasional timeout? Sounds a lot like a problem that's been common around here. Check out this thread for two possible solutions.

Those solutions are not applicable here:

-Wireless Zero Config isn't running because the connection is being regulated by the drivers of my MSI miniPCI wireless card in my laptop.
-Authentication is disabled. (I don't get disconnects, only dropouts while online gaming)

I have the SAME EXACT PROBLEM. I can play warcraft III/starcraft fine on battle.net but I timeout because of signal fluctuates.

Ok i looked around and found that a hell of a lot of people are having this problem with they upgraded the firmware from 1.30.1 to 1.30.7 ... They are reporting massive packet loss at the router much the same as your problem with the ping...

The current firmware is 2.04.3...

Try an upgrade and if that doesnt work then call linksys...
