Wireless Gaming Adapters

I was just curious about wireless gaming adapters. While I am interested in using it for my XBOX, I am more intrested in using it for my PC as well. Is there any reason why I coudn't use a wireless router to connect to my existing wireless router attached to my cable modem/lan?

This way I could plug both my PC and XBOX into it. Right now I have a 100FT of Cat6 running, and is just another unsightly cable running through my finished basement that I'd like to avoid.

You basically need a Wireless Bridge. Either an actual device that does that or you could get a WRT54G router and the 4rd party firmware and run it as a bridge.

Linksys sells actual Wireless Bridges but I haven't used one to know how well they work.

Any Access Point or Wireless Cable DSL Router that can be configured in Client mode can be used as a game Box. Wireless Network - Configuration Modes.

Of the Brands, it includes, Linksys WRT54x that is Flashable, and some of the BuffalloTech, and Belkin?s Router. Most of the Access Point of any Brand can do Client Mode.

Good to know, thanks. I'll be sure that if I go this route to get a router/switch that can be set to client mode. What exactly would I look for in the specs though? I am using mainly D-Link stuff, and like to keep everything same brand if possible.
