Wireless G router

Looking at finally going wireless within the household. Is it possible to do gaming and high bandwith applications through wireless? I remember my experience going from a wired high end optical mouse to a wireless and wanting to throw it through the wall becuase it wasn't very reponsive. If I'm playing online games will I want to do the same thing with this router?

I've been gaming happily on a 54g Wireless Network with only 5-20ms difference between it and the Gigabit Ethernet Network. If you can, get a wireless card for the computer with the Aerial on the end of a wire, makes it easier for positioning.

Been wireless quite some time. Have a Linksys WMP54GS in the comp and a WRT54G v1.1. No problems with gaming although it may take some time to find the right channel that doesn't interfere with neighbors.
