Wireless G or Wireless EXTREME G??

I need to purchase a Wireless card for my laptop and was wondering if there are any big differences between the Standard G cards or the newer "Extreme" or whatever you wanna call it G cards??

Any experiences guys? Worth paying more?

EDIT: Also, are the non-brand name cards ok? Like: Orinoco, Jaht and so on?

Uh, Orinoco is a huge brand name, very good cards

Well, with "Extreme" G, you MIGHT get double speed, but at half range. I'd say wait for N

Just get regular G. I own 2 extremeG router and I can never get it to run stable.

Ditto what .paldo said. The Extreme/Super/etc. G stuff isn't really worth the extra $ you pay for it. The regular G will be fine. If you need the extra speed and range go N, but the spec probably won't be finalized until mid- to late-2006 from what I've been reading and hearing. There's some Pre-N stuff out there now, but it might not be flashable to N when it's finalized and might not be compatible with other N/pre-N products.
