I just switched from comcast HSI to Verizon FIOS. the router verizon provides has built in wireless G. the setup went without a hitch and everything worked great for about 15 minutes.
My PC is wired to the router and my connection had been great the whole time. everyone elses connection is wireless and drops out after 5-15 minutes and a router reset will fix it for another 5-15 min.
If I connect my B wireless router to the second port on the verizon router with cat 5, everyone can connect to the B wireless router and it works fine with no drop outs, just a slower speed.
I dont think it is a router problem, because before I switched to Verizon I tried to use a G router with the exact same reults.
so, for cliffs....
-Microsoft wirelss B router, everyone surfs happily
-any wireless G router, I surf happily because I am wired but the wireless connections drop out.
- If I connect the B router to a port on the G router I surf very fast, everyone else surfs at a slower speed
