wireless extended

Hello,

I have a Hub 3.0 virgin router in my house and would like to bring the wifi to a little office I have at the end of the garden. I cannot use powerline adapters as the office runs on a different electric line. Wireless extenders do not catch the signal from the virgin hub so I cannot use them, however I can easily run a 50 meter LAN cable from the Hub to the office. What type of device shall I buy and connect to the LAN cable in the office order to have the wifi signal?

Many thanks,

egit

A solid choice would be one of the Ubiquiti UAPs. Depending on the placement of the UAP, you may be able to disable the wireless on the Hub and just use the UAP for the entire house.

2.4GHz Wireless b/g/n (300Mbps)= $59 shipped
2.4GHz + 5GHz Wireless a/b/g/n/ac (300+867Mbps) = $79 shipped

You would probably be better with two tx/rx directional antennas rather than a single
omnidirectional antenna connected to a 50meter cable.

Are there any obstructions (trees?) in between your main and garden house?

A Mesh network would be the better choice of today. I would recommend looking into either Eero, Lupa, or Google WIFI.
