Wireless drop outs every minute!

I have a 3com officeconnect wireless router, I heard it was the bomb digs. I picked up at PCI linksys wireless adapter. Does linksys haXor their products to only work with eachother? What causes my insanely frequent drop outs, ideas? the router is only like 15 ft from my computer so it shouldn't be distance.

I have an idea. When I found that my wifi was transmitting nothing for about 5 seconds every minute, I googled until I found some reports that the Wireless Zero Config service is doing that. Once you're connected, you can turn that service off and it won't do that any more.
Now I'm in wireless heaven!

That will work yeah. I'd just install SP2 on that machine. Assuming your running XP. Should be on there anyway if it isn't already. SP2 fixes that WZC issue. If you already have SP2 on there and WZC is still broken just do as suggested above.

I'd probably just create a batch file and put it on your desktop. net stop wzcsvc in notepad, then save it as something like wireless.bat the .bat being the important thing. You can name it whatever you want. Double clicking that will stop the service as long as you have admin access
