Lately, I've been getting random disconnects from my wireless network. I'm using a Linksys USB Wireless G adapter, and my router is a Linksys WRT54G. It happens when I turn my monitor off and leave my computer for a couple hours or so. My computer is set to never go on standby, so it shouldn't be killing my wireless connection. What could be causing the problem? Some kind of interference?

Sounds like your laptop is losing it's DHCP lease. Check the wireless settings on your router and make sure it's IP lease time is set to more than 12 hours.

It's actually my desktop, and I have all the computers on my network using static IPs. Would I still have a DHCP lease?

I've had a similar experience, but I was using a Belkin USB adaptor for my desktop. I'd get many random disconnections, even when my wireless router is just 2 feet away. I just got a wireless PCI card and have never had a single dropped signal.

my cents

Yeah, I think my wireless adapter just sucks. I don't have any free PCI slots though, and USB apparently sucks, so I guess I'm SOL.

Some USB adapters a pretty nice, do some research. I have both a PCI and USB adapter, and the USB one is definately more stable.
