Hi,

I just purchased a Linksys EtherFast WAP plus Cable/DSL Router w/4-Port
Switch and a WPC-11 wireless nic to use with my laptop. I'm anticipating
getting cable access soon, but right now I only have dialup. I have two
desktops, one running Win2k and one running XP home and a laptop running XP
pro. I plan on connecting the two desktops to the WAP using network cable
and to connect the laptop using the wireless nic. With this setup, will it
be possible for me to share a dialup connection using the WAP? Here is my current setup:

Windows XP home PC connected to the internet through dialup
Network cable running from this PCs NIC to the input on the WAP/router
Network cable running from WAP/router output to 2nd desktop running Win2k
pro
Wireless PC card in laptop running XP Pro

Can anyone tell me what networking settings I need to have on each of the
machines in order for them to share the dialup connection? Or let me know if
I have the hardware setup correctly?

Thanks!!

If you really want to do this, the most elegant (and probably simplest) way is to trade in your router and wap, and get the d-link wireless router.

This will give you wired ports, wireless access, and cable modem hookup, with a serial port you can hook a telephone modem up to for dialup access. you can probably sell your stuff on Eb@y for more than it will cost you to buy the d-link device.

sharing dialup access can become an exercise in self-abuse.
