Is there such a thing as a wireless access point that will dialup a modem connection?

I would like to preconfigure a wireless router - plug it in at a client's fax line, then be able to roam around the office with my laptop.

I would separate the Wireless from the DialUp gizmo.

Doing so gives you the flexibility of buying good Wireless and or changing/using/playing as you heart desires.

Buying the gizmo that you mentioned saves you one plastic box, and gets you 802.11b unknown Wireless device.

This actually isn't for me though, it's for about 300 laptop users. They're having increasing trouble finding an analog line to plug into, and more clients are beginning to restrict us from plugging into their network so we can use our vpn.

DialUp, Wireless, VPN, 300 clients?

Network wise these terms being together are Not making a lot of sense. May be you should describe better your predicament and what need to be done?

I have about 300 laptop users who work often in groups of 2 or 3 at other client's offices, and they need access to some network resources back at our company. Some of the stuff they need access to cannot be installed onto their laptop to take with them.
