Wireless cutting out?

I have a Netgear MR814v2 as my wireless router. Also have my Dell Inspiron 8200 lappy hooked up with a Linksys wireless card. Using Windows XP on both comps.
Just set up the connection. It connects...laptop stays online for about five minutes or so then disconnects. I have to connect to the network again and it connects, stay on and then disconnects again. Same cycle repeats. Tried changing the channel. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks a bunch

Also discovered if I wait after the wireless connection cuts out that it will reconnect after awhile and my laptop will be back online again. It seems like its going off and on with a period of a couple of minutes inbetween. The interruptions seems somewhat regular. I'm on the insightBB cable as my internet connection.

Possible conisderations:
1. Interferance from objects in house?
2. Other network interferance? - was getting another wireless network off and on. I t would appear and then disappear. Tried changing channel - no difference.
3. Security is set at 128 - maybe one of the computers doesn't have correct settings?
4. I use VPN client on my laptop for the wireless network at school - possible problem?
5. Do I enable IEEE 802.1x authentication for the network?
6. Does EAP type matter?

Please help. Thanks
