hey i have a linksys wireless router setup in my apartment. the problem is, every 30min or so the wireless connection will cut off but the cat5 connections still work. i have a wireless card, and i think the wireless is 801.11g, the connection is 54mbps. to get my connection back, i have to go to my network neighborhood, disable the wireless connection, and re-enable it. repair connection in windows xp does not work.

What brand/model is the wireless card?

Have you tried updating the firmware in the router and using the latest drivers for your network card?

Being an apartment, there could be numerous things causing havoc .

Try moving the router around.

You didn't specify what SP, but on SP2 you go to the wireless networks tab, highlight your preferred network, click properties, click the authentication tab and uncheck "Enable IEEE 802.1x authentication for this network"

The same option is in XP RTM and SP1, but it's in a slightly different location that I can't remember.

Moral of the post...you need to uncheck that box.

I have had disconnect problems with all linksys products I've come in contact with... I won't buy their stuff anymore because of it.
