Wireless connection issues

So I bought this new router, an Amped RG1000, because the old router has a weak signal and I can't get a decent connection with my BluRay player which is fairly distant from the router. Anyway, I can't get a single wireless device to connect to this router. One Ipad and 3 Iphones, and it's the same on every one. It detects the network SSID, but it just spins the wheel indefinitely and will not even give me a password prompt.

Oh, the BluRay player also sees the SSID, some of the time, does get a password prompt, and can login to the network, also some of the time. Sometimes it passes all the connectivity tests, sometimes just some of them. But even after logging in and passing all tests, internet connectivity is prohibitively slow. If it was only the BluRay, I'd chalk it up to distance/interference, but these apple devices are sitting within 2 feet of the router and can't even get a password prompt. And of course, I plug in the old Lynksys and the devices automatically login.

The router is working fine for the 2 computers which are hardwired to it. And it's at least sending out the SSID so it has some kind of wireless signal. It's set for DHCP and so are the devices I'm trying to connect with.

Any ideas?

If the above occurs when the security is temp. Off and the Wireless devices are few feet away from the Router.

Then get a new Router, the Amped seems to be an expensive marketing Hype, and its reviews are lukewarm.

To add to JackMDS' advice, if it turns out that the Wireless AP function of the Amped is bunk, you could always turn the radio off and (if it's supported) use your existing Linksys in AP mode. It sounds like the routing part of the Amped is fine, so there's no need to stop using the device for routing.

If using the Linksys as a WAP is possible, and if it's practical for you to run a cable from your Amped (router; LAN port)-->Linksys (now operating only as a wireless access point; LAN port), you may be able to close the distance between your Blu-ray player and the Linksys (now a WAP), which will hopefully resolve the weak signal issue.

This would involve zero or minimal cost (at most, a few $ for a 25ish foot ethernet cable).
