Well, I need your help once again.

My internet isn't working on my pc. I left it on standby last night (first time ever) and when I woke up this morning and turned it on, my internet wasn't working.

My computer is connected through this adapter to a d-link DIR-615. Other than the router being a POS and having to be reset every now and then, I haven't had any problems with it.

Everything seems to be working fine. The adapter has a very good connection to the router, and it says it's connected and working fine. The internet works fine both on the pc connected directly to the router using an ethernet cable, and the laptop's internet works fine as well. The internet on my pc was working fine immediately before putting the computer in standby.

I've already reset the router and went through the setup again with no luck.

I don't know what the problem could be, everything was working fine until I woke it from standby.

The default gateway setting that your DHCP is handing out s probably wrong.

Also make sure the DNS settings are correct.

How do I find what those settings should be set to? Do I need to call my ISP?

Also, when I open a cmd window and type ipconfig there is nothing listed under default gateway. Should it be 192.168.0.1? How do I change that?

OK thanks for you help but I solved it. Well, it's fixed now at least.

I went in the TCP/IP settings for my WLAN adapter and instead of obtaining an IP address and DNS server address automatically, it was set to custom but there was nothing in the fields. I don't think I did that, although I could have, but I would have done that after the problem started. So why the problem began in the first place is still a mystery, but at least it's ok now.

I'm just not going to put my pc in standby anymore.

Look at the Wireless card's configuration in the TCP/IP menu.

There might be an entry that says allow Network traffic to Wake Up this Computer (or something similar) check it and try again.

I checked but didn't see anything like that. Leaving it in standby isn't really important. I usually turn it on, then go take a shower so it's no big deal.

Thanks for your help though.
