Wireless cards not compatible with Router??

My roomates Have Dell lappy's they got through our school,

They dont seem to work with my Dlink Di-614+ router. I have tried to update the firmware and the drivers to no evail. when i run IPCONFIG it tells me that the device is not connected.

this is all on win2k of course.

the modem works with 2 other wireless cards I have.

so any suggestions would help
 
im not sure what "locked down" means, im assuming .wep if thats the case no, and the utility for the card cant find the router. but other cards can. could it just be that they are not compatible?
