I have an HP zt1000 laptop, and I just bought a Dlink DWL-650+ PCMCIA card for it. Followed the install instructions to the letter, and windows locks while loading my cardbus driver during startup. I'm running XP Pro. I've tried every available version of Dlink's drivers, with the same results. If I put the card in while Windows is already running, it locks hard. I've tried installing windows 98 on the same laptop. No difference. If it was a driver issue, Windows would at least detect the card when I put it in and try to find some drivers for it. No such luck. The guy that I bought it from says it was working just fine for him, and I believe him, so I'm left with trying to come up with some other reason for the problem.

I was thinking that it might be an IRQ conflict or something, so I disabled everything that I could find in the device manager in Windows. No help. My laptop BIOS will not allow me to exclude resources, so I can't try that route. Any ideas?
