I don't understand how else they would do it...like most A/V electronics, it has 2 requirements:
1. Connection to source (wire or wireless transmitter from subwoofer output)
2. Power (batteries or A/C power plug)
Unless you plan on running it off batteries (would would probably only last one movie lol), you need a power line. So that's not being deceptive at all. Then you need a wireless connection system to the receiver to get the bass signal - both the transmitter and receiver need power, so there's your power plugs. I see nothing deceptive about that either...

I think it's an awesome idea...I had 4 bass shakers in my last couch and the wiring was a mess, given that it was an apartment and I couldn't mess up the carpeting or punch in wiremold.

You and I understand this, but most consumers read wireless and assume they can just set this anywhere...as stupid as that is. Same thing comes up all the time for wireless surround sound systems.
Fact is that they are not wireless. A more accurate discription might be RF buttkicker or something like that because these will indeed have wires
