wireless bridge help

my laptop has wired & wireless cards built in. my internet is wireless, and rather than sholl out money for wireless cards for my xbox & ps2, can't i just bridge my laptop's wired & wireless connections, using the wired to connect my laptop to my gaming hub and vicariously my ps2 & xbox, and the wireless for the internet? I tried bridging the two connections, and suddenly windows couldn't find the internet. But when they're not bridged, it knows to go to the wireless for the internet and that the wired hub just has two game consoles on it. How do I make this work?
