I'm looking for a wireless phone that will stream audio from a website, like my computer does. Any recommendations?

I do it with my HTC mogul/ppc6800, tv too. I dont think many phone beside smartphones have the software necessary to do streaming music. You could try orb. You connect thru the web and can stream music off your computer or online streams you have set up in your orb account. Orb is free, you only pay for the data you use from you carrier, but if you have unlimited data, its no cost at all.

I stream music from my iPhone using iRadio which uses Shoutcast. But, ironically enough, the iPhone doesn't seem to handle music links for streaming music.

I thinks Uli's suggestion of Orb is a good one.

You should look in to MNPlight, pm. It's as ugly as all hell, but it's much better than iRadio for battery life and multitasking, since it doesn't each up CPU time like candy (60% versus 6%).

Hiyas SixOne!

I do this all the time with my HTC Touch / Verizon XV6900. The phone is running Windows Mobile 6, so most applications run without issue. The EVDO network streams audio with no problem.

I have a Motorola S9 wireless bluetooth stereo headset, and I listen to FM at work, as well as my CD collection that I have ripped to my phone. As long as your phone supports the A2DP protocol, you can establish a stereo connection.

To what sites do you normally listen?

I just got that phone today. I love love love it!!

I listen to a local station, but my office is in a bad spot for signal, so a radio gets a daunting amount of feedback. Alltel's tech guys pointed me to usliveradio.com, and it has lots of local stations that I can choose from, and stations from other states if I get a wild hair.

So far, it sounds awesome. I'm running it now, to see how much battery it eats. A buddy pointed me to an extended life battery, which is being shipped now.

Awesome! Excellent choice... lol.

I typically use the data cable to draw power from my PC via USB at work, so the battery isn't an issue of the office.

The S9 bluetooth headset is only $99 at Frys, and it will last over 8 hours on a full charge

On another note, search on "youtubeplay" for a decent YouTube player for the Touch...

Good idea, about the USB cable. I hadn't though of that.

Unfortunately, having the phone on my desk at work could be a problem. They don't mind if we have radios, but they get all kinds of upset about cell phones. And we have three-sided cubicles, so I'm going to have to be extra careful not to draw attention to it.

I'll look for the YouTube player, too. :)
