I have a client who wants no wires in his house. So, I need some advice on what to buy for him.

He will be connecting to Desktop PC's with Windows 98se. So I need to know what is a good wireless NIC for him. He will also be haveing a laptop so I will need a NIC for that as well, PCMCIA preferablly.

I will also nee a router with a signal strong enough to go through his house. Its a midsized one story home, so not that big but will not have line of sight. His connection is cable as well.

Thanks for the help of a wireless n00b!

I just set my little sis up in my paernts house. My Dad bought the Dlink WAP that was in hot deals fro JandR music for $50 and change after rebate. I bought her the SMC 2662W USB adapter new off of someone from Amazon for $65 shipped or so. She is upstairs and the LAn is downstairs. She gets 4Mb downloads from my fathers 5Mb OOL connection. Signal strength is only 55% or so, but he is downstairs and she is up/ YMMV.

If money is no concern, I would reco the Orinco USB Jackmds recommended to me, but that was more then 2xs the price of what I spent for my little sis.

Money will probabbly be budgeted since he is paying for an install.

Right now I'm estimating he will want to spend:
Router $150-190
NICS $~60
