Wireless Adapters and 64-bit Vista...

I have three questions that I hope I can get answers for.

I want to move my computer downstairs due to the heat in my home office. I current have an older Linksys 802.11b wireless router. In reviews of wireless adapters I've read I've found that none support 64-bit Vista. Does anyone know diffently from first hand experience?

I found an otion that I'm currious about: The Linksys Dual-Band Wireless-N Gaming Adapter(WGA600N). It is for connecting game consoles, but I see no reason why it wouldn't work for my PC. Since it support 802.11b, I could test it to see how it works. Then I could upgrade the wireless router. Anyone comments on the WGA600N?

I have read a number of reviews on Wireless N routers. None get glowing reviews with Linksys getting the lowerst marks. Any recommendations?

Thanks

Thanks for the quick response!

I read the negitive commnets and most involved the 64-bit drivers. Here is an example: Cons: Incompatible with a 64 bit OS and >3GB of RAM (yet they claim on their website it works with "Vista 32/64").

It should work with Vista64 I do not know what the problem is with the few Negative comment. In many case it is specific problem with a specific user that he/she are not aware of his own specific situation and thinks that he represent the world.

E.g. "I do not like "Brand X" it does not work".

OK, so what about the millions of the units sold? None of them works?

On a lite Note, the other day I read a negative comment concerning a very good piece of hardware because it is expensive to ship it to Porto Rico.

Yap, a very good Technological Negative. 😉

The edimax is an ralink chipset based card (I bought 2 years ago, worked great in OpenBSD). From the picture it looks like the SMCWPCI-N2 is also Ralink based (hard to tell, but also supported by this link).

Here is Ralink's driver page. It says it supports Vista 64.

I've got some trendnet wireless N card based on the ralink rt2800 chipset. It supports Vista, but the drivers that come with vista are out of date. I went to the ralink website and got up to date vista 64 bit drivers.
