I've seen a lot of motherboards on the internet that show pictures of them with a wireless adapter in the 5th PCI slot. Is there a particular reason why the 5th slot is so popular?
If that WLAN adapter is a true PCI device, then there's no particular reason for plugging it into a certain slot. Other than keeping it away from interference, and also away from other stuff since it's obviously a strong emitter itself.
