wireless ad hoc networks

Hey there,

Never been able to make em work. Googled for a while and couldn't find anything that helped.

currently it's between xp and 7. 7 as the host. XP machine sees the connection. Tries to connect, just keeps trying till the wireless network connection list just refreshes, but it never actually connects. Host keeps saying "waiting for connections".

Any ideas? I tried manually setting the IPs for both machines, no effect.
they're on the same workgroup.

I'm kinda stumped. Any help much appreciated.

It should work with static IPs.

If there is a second card in the computer the static iP has to be on a different subnet.

Start with No Wireless security until you get a connection.

Yea, wont' work with DHCP at all, just make sure they're both on the same network (IP wise) they should connect no problem, I've doen it several times even tho I'd rahter not.
