What are the different CAT 5 cables required for typical WAP... Main examples im looking for WAP to Computer? Crossover or Patch? Another example is at a college where they typically have one outlet coming out of the wall would a WAP be able to split that up and share it or what would i need in order to just split a connection like that up?? Another router maybe?? Thanks in advance.

Going from a PC to a WAP you will need a crossover cable. Depending on your college network, the WAP may or may not work plugged directly in. We'd need more information to tell you that. In most cases it ~should~ work, but nothing's definite 🙂 Also- make sure the WAP is secured on the college network. Register only specific MAC addresses that you want to be able to access your connection.
