Wired-Wireless Network half-alive and HALF-DEAD

Have a 3 PC wired network working fine off a dLink Switch for a year or two. Bought a Dlink WAP and 2 DLink wireless PCI cards to add 2 more 'puters. One works fine but the other is giving me fits.

The WAP is hooked into the switch and I use static IPs on all 5 machines. New machine (#5) is upstairs. I get a good link (about 80% average). It boots and can find the Network, either mapped or upmapped, BUT when I try to access any files/Net through the network it freezes solid. All shares are set right and I 've had both Black Ice and Zone Alarm on the main machines in the past two weeks.

Have a RMA for the WAP but before it goes:
1. Could it be because #5 is the old machine on the network (PII 400)
2. Could it be anything defective? Should I change brand names?
3. Am I missing something?
