Gonna get one, but haven't decided on which one.

Any lag with wireless?

Also, how's battery life?

I prefer wired. No batteries, and no lag. Wireless controllers do have lag. It's almost imperceptible at times, but every now and then it shows up and it's quite annoying to me.

I have the wired controller and am very satisfied with it. It's cheaper and the cable is 9 feet long. Also, the xbox 360 controller they package "for windows" is the exact same thing as the console controller so just get whatever is cheaper. It's just plug and play.

I use rechargeables for mine. Some wireless gaming on my pc for about 4 hours a night x ~ 5 hours on weekends for almost 2 weeks before I ran out of batteries.

The wireless battery usage on this thing is simply fantastic. There is a tiny bit of lag on the wireless, but I never noticed it even while playing SF. Then again I don't count my frames like some people do. :p

I hate wired controllers, just another mess to add to my bundle of wires. \

Had the wired one for PC for a few years and just recently got the wireless adapter. Should of gotten the wireless one from the beginning.

I've not noticed any lag with my wireless 360 controller. But the last time I used a wired PC controller was 10 years ago.

First, I bought a wireless controller and I exchanged it for a wired--a few reasons why:

-Input lag is most noticeable if you play fighting games, which I was playing a lot of SF4 at the time.

-I use it for my PC so I normally don't sit too far away from the monitor, so the wired is fine and it eliminates me having to deal with low/no battery.

After using both, I wish I bought a wired controller first because it is much cheaper and overall more convenient, I ended up spending more money than I should buying a wireless then exchanging it for a wired, which made me want to punch a baby in the face.

+1 for the wired controller - the long cord on the wired controller is a welcome feature. If you live in an apartment or an area where the rest of your wireless receivers are in one place, the extra noise might impact the wireless performance.

I have both. I only really use the wired one because of batteries and also the wireless adaptor seems to screw with my wifi signal.

I use the wireless one. I don't notice any lag (then again, I'm not playing competitive games). I chill in front of my TV but I hate cables (wired would work too). I bought the rechargeable packx2 with the charger - lasts several gaming sessions plus I switch between the two batteries, so no downtime for me!

A better question would be, how far away from your monitor do you sit? if it isn't that far, wired would be better. No lag. No extra battery cost. Probably lesser cost initially. All the benefits and none of the down side.

just my two cents.

Thanks to all who responded. Going with wired: $29.99 + FS and No Tax at Newegg. Not bad!
