Is it possible to do such a setup? From what I've seen, it sounds like a wireless router + an access point should be better than a combo unit. I figured, why not take it an extra step?
I am setting up wireless access for my uncle so he doesn't have to toy with wires whenever he uses his laptop. I could buy everything wireless, including his PC, or, since the cable modem is right at his PC anyway and he already has a NIC, buy a normal router (which I imagine, at $50, is a lot cheaper than a wireless one) and plug the uplink into a wireless access point.
Is this feasible, or am I neglecting something? It sounds like I could save him a few bucks by going this route.
