Wired or wireless keyboard, and magic or mighty mouse?

I just purchased a non-unibody MBP which included brand new, sealed Wireless Keyboard and Mighty Mouse.

What should I do? I will be using this with a 3007WFP

Sell the Mighty Mouse and get something better.

If you need a keyboard, personally I prefer the wired keyboard. There are sometimes some quirks with Bluetooth pairing, but wired is obviously 100% reliable, plus you get two USB 2 ports on it too.

The BT keyboard is extraordinarily clattery in use I find. And I find the chicklet key response pretty abysmal on wired or wireless. On a laptop yeah, I'm not going to gripe about the compromise but on a desktop, I fail to see why I have to put up with the same. Go with wired for the looks, or try e.g. something like the Macally Icekey for a slightly better key response.

I'd also advise trading up to a 3008WFP for a DP-DP connection. The MB571Z/A you'll need to use for the 3007 + current MBP combo is pretty unreliable in terms of holding the 30-inch resolution, and occasional-to-frequent futzing / rebooting will be the order of the day.

might mouse or trackpad work fine as long as you never use win7 then they are so abysmal you will bust out microsoft gear and make your mac fugly (no joke).

you can get super deals on cowboom. i think i paid $39 for keyboard and $34.99 for mighty mouse - they looked new to me. 2 battery bluetooth.

the wired keyboard was new too got both a keypad and non keypad for $24.99 shipped.

I have no issues with the Apple wireless keyboard as far as range or responsiveness, as I use one in my living room for the Mac Mini home theater setup. For the desktop, I wish they had a wireless with a numeric keypad, but it's not that big of an issue for me. Also for the desktop I greatly prefer a Magic Mouse over the older Mighty Mouse, and for the HT setup I have a Magic Trackpad.

I have a non-unibody, early-2008 MBP with DVI, so I won't be needed the adapter. THe 3007wfp only has DVI, so it works out.

it's great for hunt n peckers but all serious dudes use microsoft 4000 keyboards.

the mice too. apple junk for anything but toying around.

My keyboard never leaves my desk, so the wired keyboard was my choice. It is by far the best keyboard I've ever had.

The magic mouse however...I replaced it with a stock wired dell mouse. It was free (we have dozens of them) and unlike the magic mouse, actually works consistently.

I own the wired Mighty Mouse and the wireless Mighty Mouse, but my absolute top preference for an Apple computer is still the Logitech VX Nano.

Logitech Control Center is available for Mac OS X, so buttons are all configurable (e. g. I set left wheel click for back, and I use that small button on top for Dashboard). Much easier than squeezing those two buttons on side of wireless Mighty Mouse.

I am not crazy about the Logitech Control Center for OS X. It messes with the scrolling and tracking from the OS X default. And I couldn't get the default settings to take, so I had to fiddle with those speeds for every app.

Steermouse is quite nice, but it does cost money.

Which mice work on glass? I'm currently using a Dell ball mouse (which belongs in a museum?) on a secondary computer, because the table top is glass.

I forgot I had a Logitech Revolution 5500 BT Keyboard + Mouse. The logitech software is buggy, I can't really get it to work. What gives?

I'm still thinking about getting a wired keyboard instead. I have a seperate G5 mouse (I forgot about this one as well) to go with it. hmmm

The new Microsoft BlueField (or whatever it is called) mice allegedly do, as do the newest Logitech laser mice I think.

I do not have any glass available, but my VX Revolution didn't have any problems tracking on a clear plastic bottle of water.

I'm actually on an apple wireless keyboard and mouse right now at work, that I absolutely loathe. I loved my black logitech keyboard mouse combo worked like a champ for over 4 years until I dropped and broke it. It also could be used when I was laying down in bed to change movies or manipulate netflix. Have you gone and configured it all ? When you say you can't get it to work, what do you mean ?

The Logitech Control Center in System Preferences doesn't recognize any Logitech device that I'm using, despite the fact that I am using them!!
