I'm sure tons of you read wired, one of my favorite sections is the Jargon Watch (it's available online at wired.com under wired mag->start->jargon watch). But the problem is that I've never heard anybody use the terms on the list in the 4 years I've subscribed to wired. At least I don't recall. Here's the latest Jargon Watch:

Hot Building
An office tower peppered with Wi-Fi hubs, as opposed to a single hot spot. The free Internet access is a strategy for attracting tenants to commercial real estate.

Lipstick Indicator
The jump in sales of affordable luxury items, such as cosmetics, before or during a recession.

Recreational Genomics
Using a home DNA sampler to determine your racial ancestry. You send a cheek swab in for a lab test that pinpoints, say, the proportion of African to Indo-European genes in your system. DNAPrint, a company in Sarasota, Florida, sells the kit and service for $158.

Schtupperware Party
A sex-ed salon where women gather over cocktails and hors d'oeuvres to shop for sex toys. As New York magazine noted: "If the Tupperware party was the girls' night of the '70s, today's girls' night is the schtupperware party, where participants test vibrators instead of burp plastic."

Word Burst
A sudden spike in the use of a word, name, or phrase, especially online. Example: "William Shatner" zoomed after the actor's rendition of "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds" was voted worst Beatles cover of all time.

Anybody heard of any of these? Maybe I'm just not in the know
