Wired and wireless?

Hi guys. Is it possible to have both wired and wireless internet at home? I want to have my PC, 360, and PS3 stay wired while having wireless for my laptop, psp, and wii. Is it possible. How can I do it? Thanks!

That's exactly what a wireless router does -- it takes the broadband signal and routes it to a switch with 4 ports and a wireless access point.

You bumped a three year old thread. It appears that the AT guide is no longer available, but a lot of answers to the same questions can change in three years. I suggest that you post your questions in a new thread.

As Harvey said big part of the info in the missing links is Not relevant any more (I wrote the content of the missing links, so I know).

Inquiringmind, there are two principal options:

- Get a wired router with a wireless component, so you can set up an SSID to connect wifi nodes.

- Get a wired router and connect a wifi access point via Ethernet. Wifi nodes in range can thus access Internet via the access point, and your wired devices can be connected through a switch.
