Hi guys. Is it possible to have both wired and wireless internet at home? I want to have my PC, 360, and PS3 stay wired while having wireless for my laptop, psp, and wii. Is it possible. How can I do it? Thanks!

That's exactly what a wireless router does -- it takes the broadband signal and routes it to a switch with 4 ports and a wireless access point.

May be you should read this and get a starting point. The content of the following links will provide you with a basic tutorial about Sharing Internet and using Wire & Wireless; it is short and to the point. Few of the pages were written by me ages ago. You might ignore the prices, and the specific choice of hardware, stick with the principles, they are still the same.

I don't seem to be able to connect to this guide. Is it still available?

You bumped a three year old thread. It appears that the AT guide is no longer available, but a lot of answers to the same questions can change in three years. I suggest that you post your questions in a new thread.

Good luck. :)

Inquiringmind, there are two principal options:

- Get a wired router with a wireless component, so you can set up an SSID to connect wifi nodes.

- Get a wired router and connect a wifi access point via Ethernet. Wifi nodes in range can thus access Internet via the access point, and your wired devices can be connected through a switch.
