hey all, I'm helping my older, not-pc-literate relatives setup their router and unfortunately, I can't figure this out.
desktop has win98, not sure how updated. laptop winxppro with all updates (I just set it up and sent it out). router: netgear MR814v2. comcast cable. i actually gave them my (3 month) old router which I had setup with the MAC address of the laptop and was able to use both the wired and wireless connections, so I know the ability is there. Actually, that's why I gave them my router.. so I knew it was setup right. I don't understand how they can not get it to work; it's so easy in win xp (PnP), so maybethere's some win98 setting I don't know about.
they say that they can get either the desktop or laptop connected but not both at the same time. They swear they have the cables in correctly. does anyone have any ideas?
it's been so long since I touched a win98 pc I don't know anything.
thanks all
