I fully acknowledge being an electronics brand snob in the past. I actively avoided Vizio for years (we now own one), and the HDTV market has been in such disarray for the last decade that I am not so quick to jump on the hate-wagon. But we're in the market for something in the 40-inch range and something 55-60 inches, and I run across this: http://thewirecutter.com/reviews/best-tv/
Review is convincingly put together, except I kept expecting a section where the writer said, "I know, recommending a TCL is like recommending a Westinghouse or a Proscan, but trust me guys, this TV is legit good."
Is it possible that we read tomorrow that TCL bought the New York Times, which owns Wirecutter, and that's the only reason they crowned it king? Seems more likely to me than this manufacturer climbing up out of nowhere to reign supreme.
