wire a new HD led?

My current setup is an Atlas 10K2 (I LOVE THIS GUY) and a 75GXP, now i only get to use one HD led.. so my questions are simple:

can i wire both up by splicing the wires?
and could i possibly use one LED that changed colors depending on which HD was being used?

Thanks

DO NOT wire them together. Bad idea.
That dual color LED idea is cool, however. If you find an LED that has three leads (ground, red+, green+), wire the two HDDs grounds together (grounds only! don't connect the signal lines!), then run the signal from one drive to red, the other to green.
BTW, red+green in LEDs typically yields yellow/amber. I like that dual color idea so much I might do it myself! 🙂

[edit] Try to find THIS at your local Radio Shack. If you can't find one in town, order from DigiKey.

if you only want one single-color LED, you'll need the functional equivalent of an OR gate... or at least some diodes. two diodes might work (one on the cable from each drive)

awww man... thats an awesome point... it'll be nice to see the amber sometimes =). Guess i'll be dropping by Radio Shack...

yeah... i was thinking something would be required... not a good idea to wire both up when both send a signal at the same time.

Hmm... anyone remember those free LED's from Lumex in hot deals? Got a few 3 lead LED's in there. Have them in my case. so cool...

Sorry, kinda off topic hehe 😉
