Wiper blades!

Snowed a bit during the day today and I guess the sun melted the snow which then refroze around my drivers side blade.

Long story short the rubber ripped off when I tried cleaning the window. Thinking about trying some of those fancy rainx blades out. $11 a pop are they worth it?

If you know it's going to snow, point your blades outward. After it snows, clear windshield and pop the blades back onto the windshield.

I usually do we've gotten about 175 inches of snow so far this season. It was just a little flurry after I had driven to work. I should have been more careful but was in a rush to leave.
Can't wait for that new wiper glow tomorrow!

I had the RainX ones for a while, they were pretty great. I assume you are talking about the Latitudes or whatever they are called. The curved ones.

Being able to see is a big plus. Any collision and upset caused by poor visibility is going to cost way more than 2 wiper blades.

Audi/VW?

I went to install some on my SiLs a4 and they had some weird attachement. Went to one dealer, $27. The next one was I think $22. So close to $50 with tax for some dam wipers.
I am looking online now. Found some cheaper but shipping kills it.

Bosch Aerotwin... Mind you this probably has to to with Canadian auto part price gauging.

I like Bosch Icons, but I imagine the RainX ones do okay too. I like the flexy rubber ones.

If I buy the expensive curved blades they dont pressure in the middle on my s10 blazer.

I have Good Year wipers and they are absolutely great. Even pressure everywhere. Make sure that you mount them properly and they are snapped in place.

as many have said before, some aftermarket blades won't apply enough pressure depending on the car you drive. after 3 years os using aftermarket blades i'm going back to my OEM ones and just getting replacement inserts for $7 at the dealer.

Where do you live? In the UP? I lived up there for a few years (back in the day). Anywho, have you tried just regular winter blades? They work real well for me. Then you can put good blades on in the Spring.

The good ones are totally worth it. Stock wipers on every car I've ever seen are always total shit. For some reason they only touch the window for maybe half of the blade.
Those $50/pair Reflex blades actually touch the whole length of the blade against the glass.

My Ford was the worst. It would leave these giant streaks in the middle of where I'm trying to look. Shitty wipers = suicide.

Apparently you can replace the blades of Aerotwin... I am not convinced I should though. These uni blades will have fatique in the metal parts so replacing just the blade may not work too well.

I forked over the extra cash for the bosch icons, after a month they started leaving a spot in the middle. I am not buying them again

I live in the White Mountains NH. I generally get the cheapest blades possible for the winter and buy new ones for the spring. Ice and snow seem to mess up everything eventually. Luckily replacements are cheap for my vehicle.

I got the michelin wiper blades that are just a rubber strip with a piece of metal or something inside to reinforce it. I have never had better wipers before. They form right to your windshield because they aren't solid like normal wipers. They clean my windshield as well as I could with a squeegee every time. They were like $13 or something, but well worth it.

I bought some rain-x blades, it seems like they were about $11 ea but weren't the fancy lattitude blades, the lattitude blades were like twice the price. The $11 blades work just as well as whatever blades I replaced when they were new. I'd say they're average, but worth the $11 each.

I've found this to be true on my 2008 Accord sedan. I've spent a ton of money on several different aftermarket wipers and they all sucked.
After 3 years of trying different stuff I'm back to OEM.

I have the Latitudes on right now and they're awful. They were streaking immediately and never made solid contact through most of my view. I'll use the cheaper ones from now on.
