WinXp Workgroup probs

Ive set up a network between 2 computers running Windows Xp Pro one of them I can view the workgroup and both computers, and the other one Im on now wont let me access the workgroup, it comes up with the not accessible error... so i when searching through my computer logs and found this in computer management...

Is "HOME" the name of anything else?

not that i know of... like wut else could be named it?

Workgroup or another machine come to mind first.

well my workgroup's name is "HOME"... thats the only thing named home

and now for some reason the only thing that can access the internet is internet explorer i cant get any other internet app to work online...

Check if any of your computers have the ip of: 192.168.0.247 .

nope none of them have that ip...

Try this, change your workgroup name to something else. In addition, change your computers names.

k i did that now things are getn weird... now the computer that was seeing the workgroup isnt seeing it and the other that wasnt is seeing the workgroup/computers and a piece of the old name of the other computer... so lost...

Hey, you got xp bridging function working. Try disabling the xp firewall and turning off all the computers , then turning them on. How your internet connection works I don't know. Your default gateway is set to your IP address. Try ipconfig /release all ,then ipconfig /renew all.

when i do ipconfig /release all it says "The operation failed as no adapter is in the state permissible for this operation"
