WinXP wont boot anymore

Hi : Help me plisssss!! Made a winxp clean Installed ...but after 3 weeks...the machine goes thru a normal boot cicle..shows the winXP logo and after a while get a black screen with a blinkin cursor and some disk activity...but no way to get into windows. Tried pf8 and safe mode..to no way.
Well..the machine is a louzy pcchips m598 with a cyrix 266 and 128k.
Can anyone give me a hand on this?? Have reformated twice and always get this problem after some time
