WinXP vs WinXP64, is the only difference more ram support?

is it worth spending the time to upgrade from winxp pro to win xp pro 64 bit edition?

also, what is the difference between IE and IE64?

thanks.

RAM support is the primary difference.

Worth it to go from XP to XP64? Definitely not. XP64 was more of a stopgap OS than anything else, its not very well supported. That being said you probably wont have too many issues with it, but why bother?

To go from XP to Vista64? Most likely, whenever you decide you're finally ready for Vista.

Think about the primary reason you probably dont want to use vista - its supposedly a resource hog. If you have enough ram to even consider a 64bit OS, you have more than enough memory to go around, and that extra memory will be put to much better use in Vista.
