Recently I tried WinXP PRO on one of my partitions and am using the drivers that came with XP for my Voodoo 3 3000 video card and had the latest WickedGL installed for Half-Life.

It seems every time I run the game, I get a "OpenGL mode not supported by your video card" error which is odd because it worked fine for both Win98SE and Win2k.

Any of you play HL and run into this error with WinXP, Voodoo 3, and WickedGL? Thanks! :)

I don't believe the default drivers for Voodoo cards support OpenGL. I remember, for one, that Win2K's default driver for my Diamond Monster Fusion (Voodoo Banshee) in my other PC did not even carry any Glide support! :Q ...but I am speaking for Win2K here. Hope you get some sure-fire WinXP answer.

Microsoft removed Glide and OpenGL support after Build 2446 because of nVidia. You can't get 3dfx tools under WinXP even with the "Voodoo3 WinXP drivers" that are floating around the net. If you really want them though you can probably find them at VoodooFiles.

Well then you have not looked around everywhere on the net then. This site has a driver pack using banshee drivers and V3 tools that work great for me. I now have OGL support and can use the tools, even tv out, on my old V3 3000

I forgot to mention when you install these drivers you need to click on ignore when a few errors come up. You will then be asked to reboot. Do this and when you are booted again, run the setup again. This time the errors will not come up and you will then reboot a second time. Now you will have the 3dfx task bar icon and be able to use tools.
