winXP video card compatibility

I recently got a GeForce3 Ti-500, and when i tried to install winXP with it, it wouldn't work, so i ended up using a different video card. now however, when i have XP installed, and im trying to install the drivers for the Geforce3, it won't recognize them....what can i do? Will this video card ever be able to be recognized by windows XP, or is it just that it is so new, it won't be fixed until SP1?

I did have a similar situation with my TI500 card and Xp OS. Windows Update uses the old drivers not the detonator 4 drivers(which seem to be faster) Try to re-install!
